Big Pun (občianskym menom Christopher Lee Rios, 1971–2000) bol americký rapper portorického pôvodu, ktorý sa presadil z undergroundovej bronxskej scény v druhej polovici 90. rokov. Jeho texty sa vyznačujú technickou precíznosťou, minimálnymi pauzami na nadýchnutie, rozsiahlym použitím aliterácie a zložitými vnútornými a viacslabičnými rýmami.
Album Capital Punishment vyšiel v apríli 1998 na vydavateľstve Loud Records a bolo prvým titulom na vydavateľstve Terror Squad Productions, ktorý spoluzakladal Fat Joe. Bolo to jediný štúdiový album vydaný za Punovho života – zomrel v roku 2000 dva mesiace pred vydaním druhej dosky. Capital Punishment debutovalo na 5. mieste rebríčka Billboard 200, získalo platinovú certifikáciu od RIAA a bolo nominované na Grammy v kategórii Best Rap Album. Big Pun sa stal prvým latinskoamerickým rapperom, ktorý dosiahol platinové ocenenie. Vinylové vydanie obsahuje 24 skladieb vrátane hitov Still Not a Player, You Ain't a Killer a Twinz (Deep Cover '98), ktoré predstavujú autorovho charakteristický gangsta a boom bap štýl.
