Anglická heavymetalová skupina Black Sabbath patrí medzi priekopníkov žánru. Kapelu v roku 1968 v Birminghame založili spevák Ozzy Osbourne, gitarista Tony Iommi, basgitarista Geezer Butler a bubeník Bill Ward. Skupina si vytvorila charakteristický štýl s dôraznými gitarovými riffmi a hororovými textami.
Album Vol.4 z roku 1972 patrí k míľnikom heavy metalu. Toto superluxné box set vydanie na piatich CD obsahuje novú remasterovanú verziu pôvodného albumu z roku 2021, outtakes v mixe Stevena Wilsona, alternatívne nahrávky skladieb ako Wheels of Confusion, Supernaut či Snowblind, a kompletný koncertný záznam z turné po Veľkej Británii v roku 1973 v mixe Richarda Digby Smitha. Súčasťou balenia je tiež kniha a plagát skupiny.
V čase nahrávania albumu bola zostava Black Sabbath tvorená Ozzym Osbourneom, Tonym Iommim, Geezerom Butlerom a Billom Wardom.
