Dream Theater je americká progresívno-metalová kapela, ktorá vznikla v roku 1985 v Bostone. Patrí k najvýznamnejším predstaviteľom žánru a je známa virtuóznou hrou, komplexnými kompozíciami a spojením heavy metalového zvuku s progresívnym rockom.
Živý album New York City 3/4/93 na LP zachytáva vystúpenie z marca 1993 v New Yorku a vyšiel na vydavateľstve Inside Out Music v roku 2007. Nahrávka obsahuje 15 skladieb vrátane Metropolis – Pt. I: The Miracle and the Sleeper, Pull Me Under, Take the Time či takmer dvadsaťminútovej A Change of Seasons. Album dokumentuje zvuk kapely v klasickom období po úspechu Images and Words.
V čase nahrávania koncertu tvorili Dream Theater James LaBrie (spev), John Petrucci (gitara), John Myung (basgitara), Mike Portnoy (bicie), Jordan Rudess (klávesy) a Steve Stone.
