Dream Theater je americká progresívna metalová kapela, ktorá vznikla v roku 1985 v Bostone. Tvoria ju gitarista John Petrucci, basgitarista John Myung, bubeník Mike Portnoy, spevák James LaBrie a klávesista Jordan Rudess. Kapela patrí medzi priekopníkov žánru progressive metal a jej albumy sa vyznačujú technickou dokonalosťou a kompozičnou zložitosťou.
Vydanie Lost Not Forgotten Archives: The Making of Scenes from a Memory - The Session 1999 z roku 2023 dokumentuje vznik kultového koncepčného albumu Scenes from a Memory z roku 1999. Tento archívny album, ktorý vyšiel vo vydavateľstve InsideOutMusic, obsahuje alternatívne verzie, živé nácviky, akustické varianty a štúdiové outtakes skladieb ako Regression, Home, The Dance of Eternity alebo Finally Free. Zberateľské balenie prináša gatefold vinyl v limitovanej zlatej farbe spoločne s kompletným CD, pričom všetok materiál bol pôvodne určený len pre interné účely kapely a teraz vychádza prvýkrát na vinyle. Nahrávky odhaľujú tvorivý proces a ukazujú, ako vznikal jeden z najvýznamnejších albumov progresívneho metalu.
