Epica je holandská symphonic-metalová kapela založená v roku 2002, ktorá si získala uznanie kombináciou sopránového spevu Simone Simons s drsnými vokálmi Marka Jansena a orchestrálnymi aranžmánmi.
EP The Alchemy Project vyšlo na farebnom vinyle (toxic green marbled) ako koncepčný počin, kde kapelu v každej zo siedmich skladieb dopĺňajú významní hostia z metalovej scény. Medzi spolupracujúcimi sú členovia Fleshgod Apocalypse, Uriah Heep, Kamelot, Shining, Soilwork, God Dethroned, Aborted, Insomnium či Powerwolf. Zoznam skladieb zahŕňa skladby The Great Tribulation, Wake the World, Sirens - Of Blood and Water alebo Death is not the End.
Na EP sa podieľali Mark Jansen (gitara), Isaac Delahaye (gitara), Coen Janssen (klávesy), Rob Van Der Loo (basgitara) a Arien Van Weesenbeek (bicie).
