Epica je holandská skupina hrajúca symfonický metal s prvkami gothic metalu, ktorá vznikla v roku 2002 pod vedením gitaristu Marka Jansena po jeho odchode z After Forever. Vo svojej tvorbe kombinuje operný spev, death metalové vokály, progresívne metalové štruktúry a občas aj texty v latinčine.
Kompilácia We Still Take You With Us – The Early Years vyšla v roku 2022 vo vydavateľstve Nuclear Blast na 4 CD a zahŕňa 59 skladieb z raného obdobia kapely. Box obsahuje nahrávky z albumov The Phantom Agony a Consign to Oblivion, vrátane demoverzií Cry for the Moon (Sahara Dust demo) a nemeckej verzie Falsches Spiel (Run for a Fall). Kolekcia dokumentuje vývoj Epicy od symfonického metalu s gotickými vplyvmi až po začlenenie death metalových prvkov a progresívnych štruktúr.
V čase vydania tvorili Epicu Simone Simons (hlavné vokály), Mark Jansen (gitara), Isaac Delahaye (gitara), Coen Janssen (klávesy, sprievodné vokály), Rob van der Loo (basgitara) a Ariën van Weesenbeek (bicie).
