Grateful Dead bola americká rocková kapela založená v roku 1965, preslávená eklektickým štýlom spájajúcim rock, blues, jazz, folk, country a psychedéliu s dlhými improvizáciami počas koncertných vystúpení. Kapela si vybudovala oddanú fanúšikovskú základňu známu ako „Deadheads“ a je považovaná za priekopníkov žánru jam band.
Album In and Out of the Garden: Madison Square Garden '81, '82, '83 vyšiel v roku 2022 ako súčasť katalógovej kampane Rhino Rocktober. Táto limitovaná edícia v náklade 10 000 výtlačkov ponúka šesť kompletných vystúpení na dvanástich 180gramových vinylových doskách, zachytávajúcich koncerty v newyorskej Madison Square Garden z rokov 1981, 1982 a 1983. Sada obsahuje 129 skladieb, vrátane klasických nahrávok ako Feel Like a Stranger, Althea, China Cat Sunflower alebo Ship of Fools.
Na vydaní sa podieľali Bruce Hornsby, Robert Hunter a Rob Wasserman.
