Iron Maiden sú britská heavymetalová skupina založená v roku 1975, priekopníci novej vlny britského heavy metalu (NWOBHM), ktorí patria medzi najúspešnejšie a najvplyvnejšie kapely žánru. Ich hudba formovala heavy metal 80. rokov a inšpirovala generácie nasledujúcich metalových skupín všetkých subžánrov.
Live After Death je prvý živý album skupiny, vydaný v októbri 1985 pod značkou Parlophone. Táto remasterovaná reedícia na dvoch CD zachytáva vystúpenia z World Slavery Tour — turné nadväzujúceho na štúdiový album Powerslave. Prvých dvanásť skladieb a úvodný Churchill's Speech boli nahrané v Long Beach Arena v Kalifornii (14.–17. marca 1985), zvyšných päť skladieb potom v Hammersmith Odeon v Londýne (október 1984). Album zahŕňa celkovo 18 skladieb vrátane hitov Aces High, The Trooper, 2 Minutes to Midnight či epickej Rime of the Ancient Mariner. Mnohí poslucháči považujú Live After Death za jeden z najlepších koncertných záznamov v histórii heavy metalu.
V dobe vydania tvorili zostavu štyria hudobníci: Steve Harris (basová gitara, sprievodný spev, klávesy), Bruce Dickinson (hlavný spev), Adrian Smith (gitara, sprievodný spev, klávesy) a Nicko McBrain (bicie, perkusie).
