Jethro Tull je britská progressive rocková skupina, ktorá sa sformovala v roku 1967 v Blackpoolu. Jej hudba spája hard rock, folk rock a blues s prvkami európskej klasickej a stredovekej hudby, pričom je charakteristická neobvyklým speváckym prejavom, výraznou úlohou priečnej flauty a zložitou kompozíciou skladieb.
Výberový album The Very Best of Jethro Tull vyšiel v roku 2001 vo vydavateľstve Chrysalis na CD. Zoznam 20 skladieb zostavil sám Ian Anderson, upravil niektoré piesne pre účely časového rámca (napr. Heavy Horses) a pokryl celú históriu kapely od konca 60. rokov až po súčasnosť. Nájdete tu najväčšie hity ako Living in the Past, Aqualung, Locomotive Breath, Thick as a Brick alebo Songs From the Wood.
V čase vydania albumu tvorili zostavu Ian Anderson (flauta, akustická gitara, harmonika, spev, mandolína), Martin Barre (elektrická a akustická gitara, zobcová flauta), Andrew Giddings (klávesy, akordeón), Jonathan Noyce (basgitara), Scott Hammond a Tony Williams (basgitara).
