Liquid Tension Experiment je americká inštrumentálna progressive metalová superskupina založená v roku 1997. Traja z jej členov sú súčasťou kapely Dream Theater, štvrtým je basgitarista známy z King Crimson a projektov Petera Gabriela.
Album Liquid Tension Experiment 3 vyšiel v apríli 2021 vo vydavateľstve Inside Out Music ako prvá štúdiová nahrávka skupiny od albumu Liquid Tension Experiment 2 z roku 1999. Dvojdiskové vydanie na Blu-ray prináša trinásť skladieb, medzi ktorými vynikajú takmer štrnásťminútový inštrumentál Key to the Imagination či progresívny Hypersonic. Po viac než dvoch dekádach sa tak kapela vrátila k nahrávaniu v plnej zostave a potvrdila svoje postavenie vo svete technicky náročného inštrumentálneho rocku.
Na albume sa podieľali John Petrucci na gitare, Mike Portnoy na bicích, Jordan Rudess na klávesoch a Tony Levin na basgitare.
