Klaus Mäkelä je fínsky dirigent, ktorý si v posledných rokoch vybudoval medzinárodnú povesť svojimi interpretáciami orchestrálneho repertoáru 20. storočia. Jeho nahrávky vynikajú technickou presnosťou a detailným spracovaním partitúry.
Album Petruska, Prélude à l'Après-midi predstavuje Mäkeläho druhú nahrávku s jeho francúzskym orchestrom a nadväzuje na úspech jeho prvého dielu, v ktorom sa objavujú Stravinského kľúčové baletné partitúry L'Oiseau de feu a Le Sacre du printemps. Na tomto albume sú zastúpené Stravinského Pétrouchka (kompletný balet v pätnástich častiach), Debussyho baletná scéna Jeux a symfonická báseň Prélude à l'Après-midi d'un faune. Nahrávka bola ocenená za starostlivo vyváženú zvukovú stopu a technicky náročné prevedenie.
