Muse je anglická rocková skupina tvorená Mattom Bellamym (gitara, spev, klávesy), Dominicom Howardom (bicie) a Christopherom Wolstenholmom (basgitara, sprievodné vokály). Hudobne kombinujú alternatívny a progresívny rock s vplyvmi klasickej hudby, elektroniky a heavy metalu, známi sú energickými a vizuálne pôsobivými živými vystúpeniami.
Absolution vyšlo v septembri 2003 vydané Taste Media a stalo sa prvým albumom skupiny na vrchole britskej a francúzskej predajnej hitparády. Zvukovo prepája bombastické gitarové riffy („Stockholm Syndrome“), funkové rytmy („Time Is Running Out“) a orchestrálne klavírne pasáže („Butterflies & Hurricanes“), lyrika pojednáva o strachu, nedôvere a apokalyptických témach ovplyvnených začiatkom vojny v Iraku. Singlové hity Time Is Running Out a Hysteria pomohli skupine preniknúť na americký trh. Dvadsiate výročie vydania na 5 CD prináša remasterovanú pôvodnú nahrávku, predtým nevydané koncertné a demo verzie a zberateľské bonusové materiály.
