New Order je britská rocková kapela, významný predstaviteľ žánru new wave a synthpopu. Vznikla v roku 1980 z pozostalých členov Joy Division po samovražde ich speváka Iana Curtisa. Skupinu tvoria Bernard Sumner, Peter Hook, Stephen Morris a Gillian Gilbert; v 80. rokoch preslávila spojenie post-punku s elektronikou a tanečnými rytmami.
Album Low-Life vyšiel v máji 1985 na Factory Records a v poradí je tretím štúdiovým počinom New Order. Nahrávka predstavuje moment, keď kapela definitívne dokončila svoju premenu z post-punkového koreňa v synth-popový zvuk, ktorý ovplyvnil celú generáciu. Charakterizujú ju studené syntezátorové textúry, melodické basové linky a experimentálna produkcia. Obsahuje kultové skladby The Perfect Kiss, Love Vigilantes či inštrumentálnu Elegia. Toto rozšírené vydanie na piatich diskoch ponúka pôvodný album, raritné inštrumentálne verzie a writing session nahrávky, koncertné záznamy z Tokia, Rotterdamu, Toronta a ďalších miest z roku 1985. Väčšina bonusových materiálov nebola predtým nikdy vydaná.
V čase vydania albumu bola zostava štvorčlenná: Bernard Sumner (gitara, spev, syntezátory), Peter Hook (basgitara, syntezátory), Stephen Morris (bicie, perkusie, syntezátory) a Gillian Gilbert (gitara, syntezátory).
