New Riders of the Purple Sage je americká country rocková skupina, ktorá vyšla z psychedelickej sanfranciskej scény v roku 1969. Pôvodná zostava zahŕňala niekoľkých členov Grateful Dead a kapela kombinovala tradičné country prvky s rockovým zvukom.
Album Hempsteader: Live At The Calderone Concert Hall, Hempstead, New York, June 25, 1976 vyšiel v roku 2024 na vydavateľstve Omnivore Recordings. Záznam zachytáva vystúpenie z koncertnej siene Calderone v newyorskom Hempsteade 25. júna 1976. CD obsahuje 18 skladieb vrátane Panama Red, Portland Woman, Dead Flowers a ďalších, s celkovou stopážou vyše 70 minút.
V tom čase tvorili kapelu Johnny Markowski, John Dawson, David Nelson, David Perper a David Torbert.
