The Notorious B.I.G. (Christopher George Latore Wallace) bol americký rapper zo scény východného pobrežia, považovaný za jedného z najvýznamnejších a najvplyvnejších umelcov v histórii hip-hopu. Jeho album Life After Death získal certifikáciu „diamantová platňa“ za predaje v USA, čo je v hip-hope zriedkavý úspech.
Album Life After Death vyšiel 25. marca 1997 u vydavateľstva Bad Boy Entertainment, len šestnásť dní po Wallaceovej vražde. Toto double album nadväzuje na jeho debut Ready to Die (1994) a ďalej rozvíja mafioso rap štýl. Na nahrávkach spolupracovali Jay-Z, Lil' Kim, R. Kelly, Mase, Bone Thugs-n-Harmony a ďalší. Medzi singlové hity patria skladby Hypnotize, Mo Money Mo Problems a Sky's the Limit. Pri príležitosti nedožitých päťdesiatin umelca vychádza táto super deluxe vinylová edícia, obsahujúca 42 skladieb na 8 LP s remasterom z roku 2005 a spomienkový booklet so vzácnymi fotografiami.
