Simple Minds je škótska rocková skupina založená v roku 1978 v Glasgow, ktorá patrí medzi najúspešnejšie kapely 80. a 90. rokov. Zvuk skupiny sa pohybuje medzi new wave a alternatívnym rockom.
Dvojalbum Live in the City of Angels vyšiel v roku 2019 u vydavateľstva BMG ako siedmy živý album v diskografii Simple Minds. Nahrávka dokumentuje koncertné vystúpenie z ich doteraz najväčšieho severoamerického turné a prináša 25 skladieb na 2 CD. Medzi živými verziami nechýbajú klasické hity ako Don't You (Forget About Me), Alive and Kicking, Waterfront alebo New Gold Dream (81, 82, 83, 84).
V čase nahrávania albumu tvorili Simple Minds šesťčlennú zostavu: Charlie Burchill (gitara, klávesy), Jim Kerr (spev), Ged Grimes (basová gitara), Sarah Brown (spev), Gordon Goudie (sprievodné vokály) a Cherisse Osei (bicie).
