Slayer je americká thrashmetalová kapela z Kalifornie, založená v roku 1981. Spolu so skupinami Metallica, Megadeth a Anthrax tvorí tzv. veľkú štvorku thrash metalu — štyri kapely, ktoré žáner výrazne rozvinuli a spopularizovali.
Jubilejné vydanie Hell Awaits k 40. výročiu prináša na LP druhý štúdiový album skupiny z roku 1985. Rýchly a agresívny zvuk platne upevnil pozíciu Slayer medzi priekopníkmi thrash metalu. Album obsahuje skladby ako Hell Awaits, Crypts Of Eternity alebo At Dawn They Sleep.
Pôvodnú zostavu tvorili gitaristi Kerry King a Jeff Hanneman, basgitarista a spevák Tom Araya a bubeník Dave Lombardo.
