The Adicts je britská punková kapela z Ipswiche v Suffolku, založená v roku 1975. Táto formácia si vybudovala charakteristický imidž inšpirovaný filmom Mechanický pomaranč a vďaka rýchlej, optimistickej hudbe a odľahčeným textom sa výrazne odlišovala od ostatných punkových skupín svojej doby. V osemdesiatych rokoch bola kapela veľmi populárna a pravidelne sa objavovala v nezávislých rebríčkoch.
Kompilácia Za zvukov hudby vyšla v novembri 1982 vo vydavateľstve Razor Records a prináša 13 nahrávok z raného obdobia skupiny. Album zachytáva charakteristický zvuk The Adicts – svižný punk rock s melodickými prvkami a živelnou energiou. Medzi skladbami nájdete How Sad, Chinese Takeaway, Joker in the Pack či My Baby Got Run Over by a Steamroller. Platňa bola neskôr niekoľkokrát reedovaná s bonusovými skladbami vo rôznych vydavateľstvách.
