Americká zpěvačka, tanečnice, herečka a autorka patří k zásadním postavám světového popu. V polovině padesátých let začínala s kapelou Ike Turner's Kings of Rhythm. Nejprve vystupovala pod pseudonymem Little Ann, jméno Tina Turner přijala až v šedesátých letech. Následovala strmá hudební kariéra. Časopis Rolling Stone zpěvačku zařadil mezi sto největších interpretů všech dob (63.místo).
V roce 1993 byl uveden autobiografický film What’s Love Got To Do With It mapující život jedné z nejslavnějších zpěvaček hudební historie. Tinu Turner v něm ztvárnila herečka Angela Bassett, manžela zpěvačky Ikea Turnera pak Laurence Fishburne. Snímek doprovázel soundtrack sestavený z většinou nově nahraných písní z repertoáru Tiny a Ikea Turnerových. U příležitosti třicátého výročí vychází rozšířená reedice obsahující kromě původní nově zremasterované nahrávky také spoustu bonusového materiálu v podobě remixů, B-stran singlů i živých verzí.
