The Velvet Underground bola newyorská experimentálna rocková skupina aktívna v rokoch 1965–1973, ktorá sa vďaka integrácii rocku a avantgardy stala jednou z najvplyvnejších kapiel v histórii. Pôvodnými členmi boli Lou Reed, John Cale, Sterling Morrison a Maureen Tucker; v počiatkoch bol ich manažérom Andy Warhol.
Tributný album I'll Be Your Mirror: A Tribute To The Velvet Underground & Nico na vinyle prináša moderné interpretácie kultových skladieb. Na dvoch LP sa predstavujú umelci ako Michael Stipe s coverom Sunday Morning, St. Vincent s Thomasom Bartlettom vo All Tomorrow's Parties, Courtney Barnett v titulnej I'll Be Your Mirror, Iggy Pop s Mattom Sweeneym v European Son či Kurt Vile s The Violators vo Run Run Run. Projekt oslavuje odkaz albumu, ktoré podľa Briana Ena predalo len niekoľko tisíc kópií, ale každý, kto si ho kúpil, založil kapelu.
