Death bola americká death metalová skupina, ktorá v osemdesiatych a deväťdesiatych rokoch zásadne formovala extrémny metal. Skupinu založil gitarista a spevák Chuck Schuldiner, ktorý je dnes často označovaný za jedného z priekopníkov žánru death metal.
Album Human vyšiel 22. októbra 1991 u vydavateľstva Relapse Records a stal sa prelomovým počinom žánru technical death metal. Ide o štvrtý štúdiový album skupiny, ktorý razantne posunul zvuk smerom k technicky náročnejšiemu poňatiu s prvkami progressive metalu a introspektívnymi textami. Na albume sa ako hostia podieľali Paul Masvidal a Sean Reinert (obaja neskôr členovia kapely Cynic) a basgitarista Steve Di Giorgio. Táto dvojdisková reedícia obsahuje 29 nahrávok vrátane inštrumentálnych verzií a štúdiových dem. Videoklip ku skladbe Lack of Comprehension sa dostal do rotácie na MTV, čo pomohlo album dostať k širšiemu publiku.
Zostavu v čase vydania tvorili Chuck Schuldiner, Paul Masvidal, Sean Reinert a Scott Carino.
