Dream Theater je americká progresívna metalová skupina založená v roku 1985, ktorá patrí medzi najvýznamnejších a komerčne najúspešnejších predstaviteľov tohto žánru. Spája moderný progresívny metal s prvkami progresívneho rocku 70. rokov, fusion a orchestrálnej hudby.
Album Distance Over Time vyšiel vo februári 2019 na vydavateľstve Sony Music a stal sa doteraz najúspešnejším albumom kapely v rebríčkoch — umiestnil sa v prvej desiatke v 19 krajinách, v Nemecku a Švajčiarsku dokonca na prvom mieste. Toto štvordiškové Blu-ray vydanie obsahuje celkovo 60 nahrávok: pôvodnú verziu albumu, inštrumentálne mixy skladieb a audio animácie. Medzi hlavné songy patria Untethered Angel, Paralyzed či Fall Into the Light. Skupina si kladla za cieľ natočiť oproti predchádzajúcemu konceptuálnemu albumu The Astonishing tvrdšiu a priamočiarejšiu dosku.
V čase vydania albumu tvorili Dream Theater: John Petrucci (gitara, sprievodné vokály), James LaBrie (hlavný vokál), John Myung (basgitara, Chapman stick), Jordan Rudess (klávesy, continuum, lap steel guitar), Mike Mangini (bicie, perkusie) a Steve Stone.
