Grateful Dead bola americká rocková skupina založená v roku 1965 v Kalifornii, preslávená eklektickým štýlom spájajúcim rock, folk, country, jazz, bluegrass, blues a psychedeliu. Preslávili sa aj rozsiahlymi inštrumentálnymi improvizáciami počas živých vystúpení a oddanou fanúšikovskou základňou zvanou „Deadheads“.
Album Europe '72 na 3 CD prináša remastrované nahrávky z európskeho turné kapely v roku 1972. Koncertný záznam kombinuje vystúpenia z londýnskeho Lyceum Theatre, parížskeho Olympia Theatre, amsterdamského Concertgebouw a kodaňskej Tivoli Concert Hall.
